Combinations

A combination (合) is the general principle of two stems or two branches bonding and, under supporting conditions, possibly transforming toward a resulting element. Classical sets include the five stem combinations and the branch six-combinations, trines, and directional unions. Whether a combination actually completes a transformation is debated, so the system treats it as a conditional relationship rather than a fixed rule.
