Climate balancing corrects a chart's seasonal temperature and moisture: a deep-winter chart is read as needing warming Fire, and a peak-summer chart as needing cooling Water, independent of raw strength. It is most associated with the 穷通宝鉴 strand of the tradition, which organizes the useful god by the day-master stem across the twelve months. It is one of several recognized approaches to selecting favorable elements, not the only one.
