The organizing pattern of a chart, usually named from the dominant Ten-God of the month branch.

Chart structure classifies a chart's organizing pattern, typically from the dominant element or Ten-God revealed by the month branch — ordinary structures such as the Direct Officer pattern, or special structures such as the follow patterns. Classically it is used to determine the useful god. This is the most school-divergent layer of the method: there is no single agreed list, and schools differ on whether structure or strength leads the reading.
